This is a single post from deeden.co.uk made during the period May 2002 to April 2009. During a previous grand redesign I decided to make a break with the past and consign the old entries to history. This entry is from May 2006 and lives here forevermore.

Pressure from the boss

I’ve been given a subtle hint by Michèle, well as subtle as she could manage, that I should write something here, as a few people have mentioned that I’ve disappeared during the last 6 weeks or so and written nothing here as well as failing to produce another podcast. Muchos apologias to everyone who is waiting for me to dispense what little wisdom I have. In order to prove to you that I’m still alive I’ll give a quick rundown of what the things that have been occupying my time in the last while.

The first, and the largest use of my time, has been my new job at Front. I’m enjoying the challenge and the variety of work I’m getting to do, however a few deadlines have loomed so I’ve been keeping my head down and working away diligently on those projects. There’s still a good amount of stuff to do but hopefully (touch wood) I’m over the main obstacles and things should move along from now on.

Actually now that I think about it that’s the main distraction. The other distractions that have arisen have all been in response to it. For example, I’m working my way through the first and second seasons of Homicide: Life on the Street on DVD, and remembering why it is the best TV show ever made. The 3rd episode “Night of the Living Dead” is fantastic TV with the entire episode spent on the back and forth between the characters.

I’ve also been spending a fair portion of my time preparing my site for a move from the server it’s currently on to another one. Once the DNS has changed that will take place. I have been waiting for the move to take place before posting however there has been a delay in this so I’m taking the bosses advice and just writing again.

My apologies for the long silence. I’ll try (again) to post on a more regular basis here, as well as getting episode 4 of Continental Drift Radio out too. Then I will catch up on the various emails I need to write to people, so Chris I’ll get to you soon. I’m looking forward to being able to buy from you at some point :)
