Bert Trautmann OBE

Former Manchester City goalkeeper Bert Trautmann is to be awarded the OBE. He is to receive the award for his work to improve British-German relations. That is the type of thing I like to see (ex-)footballers awarded for. Bert and Alex Williams (another ex-City goalkeeper) have both received awards for the work they’ve done after their playing careers were over, not for winning something by luck.
