This is a single post from deeden.co.uk made during the period May 2002 to April 2009. During a previous grand redesign I decided to make a break with the past and consign the old entries to history. This entry is from July 2004 and lives here forevermore.

A Scenic Drive to the Giant's Causeway

Mappoint's route from Belfast to the Giant's Causeway

I meant to mention this a few weeks ago but things got in the way. Anyway both Michèle and I were off for a week a fortnight back and we decided that we’d take a trip to the Giant’s Causeway on one of our days off as neither of us has ever been. Obviously we’d need directions, so I thought I’d try online. I went to Mappoint and entered my requirements; starting in Belfast, finishing at the Giant’s Causeway. The map displayed was the route that was suggested to me! That’s right it suggested that we take a 10 hour and 21 minute trip, covering 145.8 miles and involving not one, not two, not three, but four ferries, and a trip to Scotland!

We didn’t make the trip in the end. Not because of the trek before us, but because Michèle was unwell. We will make it at some point, by which time I’m sure the huskies can be trained up and the tracking satellite launched.
