My name is Stephen and I'm a Cash Peters fan
I’ve been a fan of Up All Night for years. I used to listen to it quite a lot when I was student, especially in 1995 and 1996 when Rhod Sharp and Richard Dallyn were the presenters. It was then and is now the best show on five live. For the last few months I’ve taken to listening to the Real stream of the previous nights show during the day, although I tend to give it a miss when Dotun Adebayo is presenting as he annoys me with his tendency to not listen to the people he’s interviewing.
Anyway there are two sections of the show each week that I rarely miss. One is the football phone-in on Monday mornings with Tim Vickery. It’s by far the best football phone-in around due to the excellence of the regular panellists Tim and Sean Wheelock.
The main thing I tune in for nowadays is “My Lovely Slot” with Cash Peters; 20-30 minutes on American television, his neighbours, LA life or anything that takes his fancy. Rhod Sharp is there as well but Cash just takes over for half an hour from 2.30am on Wednesday and rules the roost. Even if I can’t be bothered listening to the rest of the show I’ll skip through the stream to that.
The reason I mention this is that apparently I’m not alone. Cash mentioned that other people do this too, rather than staying awake just to listen to him, which you’d only do if you were “a fool”! I’m not alone in my Cash Peters addiction, Kathryn and myself have company :)
