This is a single post from deeden.co.uk made during the period May 2002 to April 2009. During a previous grand redesign I decided to make a break with the past and consign the old entries to history. This entry is from March 2004 and lives here forevermore.

A quick update

I’ve not written here in a while, as you’ve probably noticed. So here’s a quick recap and rundown.

I went to see the Manchester City / Chelsea league match a few weeks ago. The result was a travesty, as City played some wonderful football, especially Shan Wright-Phillips, and deserved a win. The new stadium is fantastic. The atmosphere was great, although I did hear that that was the best it had been so far.

I’m also going to see the Manchester derby this weekend. I’m really looking forward to it. Thanks Mum for letting me have your ticket, I really appreciate it. I’ve only been to 1 derby match before, the 3-3 match in October 1990, and it was a cracking match, so hopefully this will live up to it. Although I’d happily take a scrappy win!

A less productive use of my time has been spent dealing with UPS and Apple in order to get the box I was promised delivered. The first time I rang Apple I had a fine experience with the lady on the line being wonderfully helpful. The second time I had to deal with a complete idiot who shouldn’t be let near customers. This whole thing still has to be sorted out, I’m ringing UPS today, but you’ll hear more about that at some later point.

Finally, Dancing Barefoot by Wil Wheaton is a great read. I finished reading it this morning on the bus to work, having started it yesterday on the way in. Now I just have to wait for “Just a Geek” to appear before I can pre-order it.
