This is a single post from deeden.co.uk made during the period May 2002 to April 2009. During a previous grand redesign I decided to make a break with the past and consign the old entries to history. This entry is from February 2004 and lives here forevermore.

Bye bye little iBook

Our new iBook is going on a trip tomorrow, down to Cork to get fixed. The CD drive is playing up, refusing to allow CDs in. This coming after some black felt-like material came out when ejecting Championship Manager.

I rang Apple last night after finding the number (thanks Marty) and dealt with a lovely lady from somewhere in America who asked all of the right questions in a non-patronising or accusatory manner. You know what I mean, often places will give the impression that they think you broke it and that they’re just about avoiding accusing you. Anyway the result is that the iBook would have to be send off to be repaired. So we’ll receive some form of packaging from Apple in the next day or two and then have to wait 5-7 days to get Junior (as he’s called) back.

Tonight will involve a few hours of backing stuff up and then it will be a week without a laptop. How primitive!
