There's more to life than books you know...
On Sunday I constructed a flat-pack bookshelf from Argos while watching the Arsenal - Leeds match and talking to Michele. All went well. After that we spent a lot of time moving our various books from the precarious places they were perched and stuffed. After another few hours yesterday evening grouping books together by author, type or category things look rosy. We have spare shelf space, which will inevitably filled with other books, and I can now move onto part B of the plan.
Part B involves acquiring a USB barcode reader that will work under OS X and scanning the barcodes of the books that haven’t already been added to our online library database. Currently there are 561 books in the database and that’s less that half of the total I’d estimate. It would be much quicker to add the rest if we could just scan the barcodes (from the books that have them) rather than entering each ISBN by hand.
Anyway, I must remember to attempt to scrounge a reader tomorrow for a weekend.
