A raft of links and small comments today…
First things first. For 24 glorious hours my football team, Manchester City, were top of the Premiership. A fairly lucky win against Blackburn brought it about, but I don’t care how it happened. It’s the first time in 12 years that we’ve been top of the table. In that time we’ve been relegated 3 times, promoted 3 times and played in Division 2. We’ve also had at least 9 different managers. Actually I hadn’t even come to Belfast in 1991, I was still 2 years away from doing my Leaving Certificate. It all goes to back up what I was saying earlier.
Greg Dyke, director general of the BBC, has announced that the corporation will provide full access to the BBC archive via the internet. No timescale for this was announced and I’d say that there will be many hurdles but it would be fantastic if it were to happen. Another related story involves the claim that the Tories would close the BBC website if they won the next General Election. So no worries there then!
Yahoo has joined the RSS bandwagon with a group of feeds for the various news categories. Sadly there’s no mention of feeds for the UK site site, but it’s probably just a matter of time.
