Signs of life - 8th of June 2003
I’ve been asked by various people, Michele and Marc being the main “pesterers”, to write here some more. They have a point so here’s a brief rundown of what I’ve been up to/what’s distracted me in the last few weeks.
- The Libobbolary. This has been taking my time more that anything else of late. Basically it’s a list of the books Michele and I own. It’s grown into a website with lists of authors, editors, publishers and categories, as well as keeping track of what we’ve borrowed, loaned to other people and want. All in all it’s well on it’s way to complying with the Law of Software Envelopment. Of course there’s no link to the library as it’s just for Michele and I, so you’ll have to trust me on this one!
- CGI::Kwiki is Brian Ingerson’s simple implementation of a Wiki. I’ve installed a couple in the last few days and it really is as easy as the documentation claims. People, such as Marty, are already adding bits and pieces and we, the cabal (as Marc likes to call us), have just installed one for playing with. My only real bother with it is the dodgy html it generates.
- PBEM football games are another thing that occupy a few hours. I’ve just started playing in 3, PBESL, WSL and GISL. They occupy a few hours each week and provide some welcome distraction from real life for a while.
