End of an Era
It was a strange day on Sunday. Maine Road staged it’s last City match and a crowd of 34,000+ was there. The game let down the rest of the day but it was still wonderful to go one last time. I’ll write more on this in the coming days, especially once I get my photos developed, but a few things do come to mind including the quietness outside the ground early in the afternoon as people just walked slowly about remembering past times, the reception Shaun Goater got when he arrived at the ground, the atmosphere, the chanting of “Uwe, Uwe Rosler”, the appearance of Paul Dickov, the singing of “Feed the Goat” as Goater led the team onto the pitch. These and many other things will stay with me.
Anyway more later this week after it’s all sunk in.
