This is a single post from deeden.co.uk made during the period May 2002 to April 2009. During a previous grand redesign I decided to make a break with the past and consign the old entries to history. This entry is from January 2003 and lives here forevermore.

English cricket and Zimbabwe

I’m very disappointed that England will be playing in Zimbabwe during the cricket World Cup next month. I thought that someone in the ECB would have the guts to make a tough decision, but instead they’ve fallen back on the old, everyone else is doing it so why can’t we. Well if everyone else is wrong that doesn’t mean that you have to be wrong too.

One man who should be applauded is Pat Murphy, the Radio 5 who have said that he’s not going to Zimbabwe for England’s first match. He will go to the rest of the matches which are being held in South Africa, but he refuses to go to the games in Zimbabwe. He does defend the ECB to a certain degree, which I don’t agree with, but I still admire his stand.
