Back in the world of vtwm
I’m finally sending the ibook I use (from work) back to Apple. This is to get the keyboard fixed. It has been ignoring certain letters for a number of months now, and finally I’ve had enough.
This has all resulted in me going back to using linux for a while (specifically Debian). Now KDE 1 was installed and I took a dislike to that so, in order to get some work done in a familiar-ish environment, I insalled twm. This mainly came about after I found the .twmrc file I used at Queens. So after a bit of jiggery-pokery I was back in the days of 1994 with the same colours and menus.
Anyway today I changed to vtwm so that I could have the joys of virtual desktops. Which takes me back to 1995 (or forward, depending on your view). It’s very strange using these systems after so long. It’s a rather nice feeling of nostalgia. I have noticed that I really miss zwrite, zwgc, zctl and all that. I was very used to sending quick messages to the person beside me asking if they wanted to go for lunch!
