This is a single post from deeden.co.uk made during the period May 2002 to April 2009. During a previous grand redesign I decided to make a break with the past and consign the old entries to history. This entry is from August 2002 and lives here forevermore.

Cocoa and Tea

I’m making this entry to keep Stephen happy. He knows the reason!

Anyway back to the subject of the title. First of all, Cocoa. Cocoa is “collection of advanced object-oriented APIs for developing applications, frameworks, and other software in Objective-C and Java”, ( thanks Apple!). Basically it’s a development environment for OS X. Anyway a few months ago I started playing around with it and playing with a few things but then something else came up and I let it slide. Now I want to get back into it, and I’ve started to read stuff at some excellent sites such as cocoadev, cocoadevcentral and Stepwise, amongst others.

So I have an idea for an application (this sounds eerily familiar!) but I need to read up on sockets (specifically non-blocking sockets). Fun for the weekend.

The “tea” part of the title comes from the fact that Michele bought me an excellent metal “mug” to keep my tea warm. No more cold tea when I forget to drink it for so long.
