I’ve spent my day doing 3 things mainly.
Adding books to a database. I want to have all of my books in a database somewhere so that I can get easy access to what I’ve got. This mainly stems from trips to second hand bookstores where I see a book and can’t remember if I have it already. More often that not in that situation I find that I have it already if I buy it, and I don’t have it if I decide not to purchase it.
Most of the information is coming from various websites with a few handy modules asking the questions.
Right now I’m just working on storing the info without worrying about the interface to it. I’ll probably stick a website around it, maybe a few simple wap searches and a few web services just for fun and learning.
I’ve also put some work into writing a tv listings site for Michele (and myself). This mainly comes down to not liking any of the ones currently available. I have most of the back end done now, with a few small tweaks here and there, I’m just working on the web site for it now. Currently I’m planning on just using CGI for a while, until I’ve got the Apache Handler completely wrinkle free.
Most importantly of all I’ve been looking after Michele who hasn’t been feeling well. Poor thing.
