This is a single post from deeden.co.uk made during the period May 2002 to April 2009. During a previous grand redesign I decided to make a break with the past and consign the old entries to history. This entry is from July 2002 and lives here forevermore.

RSS feeds and chess servers

I haven’t posted anything for a few days so I’d better catch up. A few things that come to mind are…

RSS / RDF feeds are a wonder. Thanks to NetNewsWire Lite I’ve drastically cut the time it takes me to read the various blogs and news sites I have bookmarked. Now all I have to do is tell it where the feed is and I can find out what’s new in one little tiny app. Apart from Marc that is, who doesn’t have a feed for his site. Grrrr…..

One thing I’m doing to waste the time I’ve saved is playing chess on FICS. I used to play on the British Internet Chess Server when I was at University. but that seems to have disappeared and I can’t find a replacement. Therefore I’m currently playing on a server in Fremont, California. So if anyone knows if there is a British server around anymore, please let me know where it is.

There was something else but I’ve forgotten what it was!
